Turbot has a disc shaped body that lacks scales but has many bony turbercules. It is a left eyed flat fish

Turbot are bottom dwellers and like sandy and gravelly bottoms. They are more likely to be found at sea rather than in estuaries.

Turbot is a very good eating fish, highly prized with a delicate flavour.
We recommend cooking them, like plaice on the bone under the grill. Spread a little butter on the and add a dash of lemon juice and some seasoning prior to cooking.
