Mousehole

Mousehole is a pretty fishing village just west of Penzance and Newlyn. It is famous for it’s Christmas light displays and people come from all over the place to see the lights.

A lifeboat was stationed at Penlee Point between 1918 and 1983 when it was moved to Newlyn – it is still known as the Penlee Lifeboat.On 19th December 1981 the entire crew of the Penlee Lifeboat tragically died while attempting a rescue in hurricane winds.

The rocks between Newlyn and Mousehole provide good conger fishing. You will also catch mackerel, bass, pollack, large wrasse, pouting and dogfish.
