About this product

A good-quality hand line for crabs and small fish. It comes with booms, a weight and hooks, so you just add bait.

The hooks are sharp, so it's the line for older children, used with an adult. Bait the hooks carefully. For younger children, our hand line with a net bag has no hooks.

Bait isn't included. Always supervise children near water, check the tides and local rules, and return crabs gently after a look.

Crabs and small fishThe hooks catch small fish as well as crabs.
Ready to useBooms, a weight and hooks come with the line. Just add bait.

How to use

Crabbing in four steps

1Pick a safe spot

A sheltered harbour or pier with safe access. Keep children supervised at all times.

2Bait the hooks carefully

Keep fingers, and younger children, clear of the hooks.

3Lower, don't cast

Lower the line gently from the edge rather than casting it.

4Look, then let go

Keep crabs briefly in a bucket of seawater, then return them gently.

Spot on

Did the job on a short coastal session.

Good with a note

The setup worked, though one part felt more basic than I expected. It did enough for a casual trip, but I would not call it a standout.

Arrived quick

I nearly forgot to review them, but they have been useful enough to mention. The line and hook setup felt simple enough for a quick harbour stop.

Looks good

This was a bit of a whim order and glad I did. I nearly forgot to review them, but they have been useful enough to mention.

Better than the more expensive one I had before, and the delivery was really quick too

Ordered these for my sister because she loves anything costal. She liked them more than I thought to be honest. I nearly forgot to review them, but they have been useful enough to mention. The line and hook setup felt simple enough for a quick harbour stop.
